The Onitsha Ofala festival dates back to about 700 years ago, at the time of Eze Chima, the first monarch, who migrated to the area, now known as Onitsha. In those early days, the King of Onitsha, referred to as, Igwe-Onitsha, was always confined to the palace.





The royal crown (okpu ododo), acknowledging the crowd that would have gathered by waving at all the directions to the people and then returns inside.

Ibrahim Magu "Whoever we arrested for corruption must be guilty" - EFCC boss Magu dismissed insinuations that the ongoing anti-corruption war is selective, stressing that no one is untouchable.     The acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu , has reaffirmed that the ongoing anti-corruption fight is not selective. Magu said before anyone is arrested, the Commission would have, after a thorough investigation, established that the individual is guilty. He stated this in Kaduna on Monday, October 24 while speaking on the sideline of the National Open Government Partnership retreat. "We don’t just arrest somebody who has no case to answer," Magu said while urging Nigerians to see the war against corruption as a collective fight. Boko Haram Buratai insists sect has been defeated Buratai also told the elders that the initial challenges encountered by the troops have been surmounted.   The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai in a meeting with Borno elders said Boko Haram has been defeated. Buratai said “We were given three major tasks and we have made efforts toward achieving two,  “The first task is to defeat Boko Haram and I want to tell you that as at today Boko Haram has been defeated.  “When I say defeat, it doesn’t necessarily mean that there won’t be hitches here and there.
