In Anambra Gov. Obiano adopts new technology for long lasting roads The governor explained that after the experiment, the road would be placed under close observation for six months to see whether it would withstand heavy traffic.     The Anambra government is currently experimenting with a new technology that will lead to the construction of longer lasting roads in the state. Gov. Willie Obiano made the disclosure on Saturday at a demonstration of the use of the technology on a short road linking the state secretariat complex to Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka. Olisa Metuh Court throws out PDP spokesman’s case against FG Metuh had taken the FG to court over his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).       The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a case filed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spokesman, Olisa Metuh against the Federal Government. Metuh had taken the FG to court over his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The case was dismissed by presiding judge, Justice Okon Abang on Thursday, February 25, 2016 because neither Metuh nor his lawyer showed up for the hearing of the matter. The judge further ordered‎ Metuh to pay six agents of the federal government N20, 000 each as trial costs. The PDP spokesman is being tried for money laundering and destruction of evidence.

Alex Badeh Ex-Chief of Defence Staff also linked to N4.4bn NIMASA fraud – EFCC The EFCC is said to be investigating the alleged diversion of the funds from NIMASA to the accounts of senior officers of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has linked former Chief of Defence Staff , Alex Badeh to a N4.4 billion money laundering investigation being conducted with regards to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). The EFCC is said to be investigating the alleged diversion of the funds from NIMASA to the accounts of senior officers of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), according to Punch. “We brought Badeh and Yushau to Lagos to answer to fresh allegations. Tompolo Ex-militant asks Court of Appeal to stop his arrest The court granted an order for Tompolo’s arrest at the instance of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after he failed to appear to face money laundering charges.   Former militant, Government “Tompolo” Ekpemupolo has urged the Court of Appeal in Lagos to set aside an order for his arrest which was granted by the Federal High Court in the state. The court granted an order for Tompolo’s arrest at the instance of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after he failed to appear to face money laundering charges. The EFCC has accused the former militant and nine others of looting about N34 billion in funds belonging to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). JAMB UTME portal now open “Candidates are to adhere strictly to the schedules as there will be no rescheduling of examination for any student."   The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has advised candidates who registered for the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to print their examination notification slips. Its Head of Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said candidates would have access to the JAMB portal from today. In Kwara Govt warns school principals against indiscipline He said acts of discipline should start from the head as administrators and which must flow down the ladder to members of staff and the students.   The Kwara Government on Thursday warned secondary school principals in the state against acts of indiscipline. The state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Alhaji Musa Yeketi , gave the warning at a meeting with all senior school principals in Ilorin. Yeketi reminded them they were the heads and faces of their respective institutions. Tompolo   EFCC moves to seize assets of ex-militant leader Tompolo was declared wanted last week after two bench warrants issued against him by the court where he has been charged with alleged fraud. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has approached a Federal High Court in Lagos, seeking to freeze assets of ex-militant leader,  Government Ekpemupolo , popularly known as Tompolo. According to the, the Commission filed a motion to that effect today, February 18, 2016. Last week, Tompolo was declared wanted after two bench warrants issued against him by the court where he has been charged with alleged fraud. EFCC had alleged that Tompolo and nine others diverted converted N49 billion belonging to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and safety Agency (NIMASA).
