A young lady in Pakistan has lost her life after being set on fire by her boyfriend.
A 20-year-old Pakistani lay, Sonia Bibi, has died after her jilted boyfriend burned her alive because she refused to turned down his marriage proposal, reports Mail Online.
Bibi was admitted to hospital last month after her former lover doused her with petrol and set her on fire when she told him she had fallen out of love with him and therefore could not marry him but she could not make it as she lost the battle on Tuesday, November 3.
A Dr Naheed Chaudhry, the head of the Multan's Nishtar hospital's burns department where she was admitted, said between 45 and 50 per cent of her body was burned in the vicious attack and it would have been a miracle if she had survived.
The tragic incident took place in a remote village of Multan district in central Punjab province.
While on her hospital bed, Bibi had told police that her estranged lover identified as Ahmed, had set her on fire 'after she refused to marry him'.
The 24-year-old suspect has been arrested by the police and is currently in detention.
