Dasuki's lawyers wrote to the EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu, informing
him, of their client’s inability to honour their invitation.
The former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, has reportedly shunned an invitation sent to him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to reports, the Presidency referred the findings of the 13 man panel that investigated various arms deals from 2007, to the EFCC.
Also, reports from Punch Newspapers say lawyers to Dasuki wrote to the EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu, informing him, of their client’s inability to honour their invitation.
A source who spoke to Punch also said “You
see, these things are not like that. How do you expect him to honour
the invitation when the DSS are restricting him? He cannot leave that
place.
“That is why his lawyers have
written to the Acting Chairman of the EFCC to notify him that he would
not be able to go to the commission.
“What
I am saying is that Dasuki is not refusing to appear before the
commission; he would go whenever the SSS are pulled out of the place.”
Following the N37b fraud accusation levelled against him, Dasuki said former President Goodluck Jonathan approved the funds.
The former President has since denied approving the funds.
