Barcelona defender Garard Pique has finally explained his awkward photo with his former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The defender and the striker were seen in a photo taken several years ago in a somewhat intimate position and many have wondered what could have led to that pose.
The defender has revealed that he and Ibrahimovic were just talking when the photo was taken.
“I’d just released my autobiography and he came over to say 'well done',” Pique explain to FourFourTwo Magazine.

“I’m a tactile person, very caring, and the photographer took the shot (of the two holding hands). He was inside the training ground, so it couldn’t have been someone from a gossip magazine.
“I couldn’t believe it turned into this massive thing."
Pique also believed that the media blew the photo out of proportion at that time to distract Barcelona a very crucial time of the season.
 “I can’t say the reaction surprised me.​ We were ahead of Real Madrid with only a few games to go, so the press would jump on anything to destabilise us. We still won the league, though,” Pique said.
