Saraki Supreme Court says Senate President’s corruption trial must continue

The apex court reached the decision today, February 5, 2016, after dismissing Saraki’s appeal against the case.

The Supreme Court has ruled that the trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki on corruption charges must continue.

The apex court reached the decision today, February 5, 2016, after dismissing Saraki’s appeal against the case.

The Senate President has been accused of asset declaration fraud by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
Saraki earlier appeared before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on the charges but subsequently challenged its jurisdiction to hear the case.
He lost the case at the Court of Appeal and then proceeded to the Supreme Court.
Saraki is alleged to have committed the offence during his tenure as governor of Kwara State.
He has however said that the trial is politically motivated and is being spearheaded by persons who are not happy with his emergence as Senate President.

Ibrahim Magu "Whoever we arrested for corruption must be guilty" - EFCC boss Magu dismissed insinuations that the ongoing anti-corruption war is selective, stressing that no one is untouchable.     The acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu , has reaffirmed that the ongoing anti-corruption fight is not selective. Magu said before anyone is arrested, the Commission would have, after a thorough investigation, established that the individual is guilty. Boko Haram Buratai insists sect has been defeated Buratai also told the elders that the initial challenges encountered by the troops have been surmounted.   The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen.
