Osagie Ize-Yamu emerges PDP governorship candidate
This is coming after the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the
state announced Godwin Obaseki as its governorship candidate.
Pastor Osagie Ize-Yamu has emerged as the People Democratic Party (PDP’s) flag bearer for the upcoming Edo governorship elections.
This is coming after the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state announced Godwin Obaseki as its governorship candidate.
In
his acceptance speech, the PDP guber candidate thanked the national
leadership of the party for its fairness, and promised to reclaim the
governorship seat on September 10, 2016.
The PDP governorship primaries committee chairman, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state announced Ize-Yamu as the winner after he pulled in 584 votes.
His closest opponents, Mr Mathew Uduoeyekemwen and Chief Solomon Edebiri got 91 and 39 votes respectively.
Reports say 713 delegates were accredited to vote out of a total of 751 names submitted.
Pastor Osagie Ize-Yamu decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2014, from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was also the Secretary to the State Government from 1999 to 2007 under the administration of Chief Lucky Igbinedion.
