Justice Ngwuta accuses minister of being behind DSS raid
Another Supreme Court judge has accused Rotimi Amaechi of being behind his arrest and detention by the DSS.
Days after Justice John Inyang Okoro accused Minister for Transport, Rotimi Amaechi of attempting to bribe him, another Justice of the Supreme Court has laid same claims.
Justice Sylvester Ngwuta
has alleged that his arrest and raid on his home by operatives of the
Department of State Service, DSS, was as a result of his refusal to
yield to Amaechi and APC's requests.
In a report
by Daily Post, Ngwuta said he is being victimized for refusing
entreaties, at various times, to help the All Progressives Congress,
APC, win governorship election cases involving Ekiti, Rivers and Ebonyi
states.
In a letter to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Ngwuta reportedly mentioned Amaechi and Minister of Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, as two top APC leaders who approached him to ensure APC wins governorship election tribuals.
Ngwuta
reportedly accused Ameachi of begging him to facilitate the removal of
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State at all cost.
The Supreme Court judge further stated that after Gov Nyesom Wike
won the Rivers Governorship election tribunal at the Supreme Court,
Amaechi also called him on phone to register his disappointment.
