President holds secret meeting with Ondo governor, Olusegun Mimiko


Mimiko is said to have arrived at the Presidential Villa at about 11am on Friday, October 28 for the meeting.

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently having a closed door meeting with Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko.

The meeting is believed to be connected to the outbreak of violence in Ondo following the announcement of Jimoh Ibrahimas the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 26 governorship election.

Ibrahim’s candidacy was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday, October 27.
The decision has caused controversy due to Ibrahim’s replacement of Eyitayo Jegede who was earlier chosen as the party’s candidate.
Ibrahim is a member of the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP while Jegede is a member of the Ahmed Makarfi faction.
The PDP has been rocked by a leadership crisis since it attempted to remove Sheriff from the position of chairman in May.

Fayose Ekiti Governor approves N237m car loan for workers According to the state  commissioner for Finance, Toyin Ojo, the grade levels of the workers were taken into consideration, during selection.   The Governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose has approved the sum of N237m as car loan to workers in the state civil service.
