2 men arraigned in court for stealing dogs
The suspects, who were accused of stealing three dogs, have claimed that they stole only one.
A Gudu Upper Area Court located in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has arraigned two men for allegedly stealing three dogs.
The suspects, Suleiman Shehu, 28, and Bashir Abubakar, 20 are to stand trial on a three-count charge of joint act, criminal trespass and theft, report says.
According to the Daily Post News, the suspects admitted to stealing only one dog.
Joshua Ayanna,
the case prosecutor told the court that the matter was reported on
November 26, 2016, by three complainants, Solomon Olajide, Zacharia
Ibrahim and Ibrahim Aminu.

They alleged that the suspects had on various instances invaded their residences and made away with the dogs.
“One
of the dogs belonging to one of the complainants, one Mr Solomon, is
valued at N20, 000, the rest belonging to the other two are valued at
N75,000 and N55,000.
“The prosecutor also said that during police investigation, the defendants confessed to have committed the crime," Ayanna said.
Umar Kagarko,
the judge who presided over the matter has granted the suspects bail in
the sum of N50,000 and surety who is expected to pay the equal sum.
The judge adjourned the case till January 17, 2017 for more deliberation.
